Hamburg, December 22 – The alanta health group acknowledges the decision of the Hamburg Regional Court to allow the charges brought by the public prosecutor's office to proceed to trial. Alanta expressly welcomes the opportunity this provides to have the allegations relating to the legal structure of the medical care centers (MVZ) and individual business activities of alanta clarified comprehensively and transparently by a competent court. The alanta health group is confident that this clarification will show that the allegations are unfounded.

„Neither the court nor the public prosecutor's office has questioned the quality of our oncological infusions. Furthermore, the investigations have not revealed any evidence of improper medical treatment. Alanta has been a reliable and systemically important part of oncological care in Germany for many years. We work strictly within the legal framework and according to the highest medical, organizational, and billing standards. In our view, the allegations made against the founder and management are completely unfounded. For six years now, our company has been portrayed in a light that does not correspond to our actual actions. To be clear: the billing fraud alleged by the public prosecutor's office at the expense of statutory health insurance companies has not taken place in our system," said a spokeswoman for the company.

In the past, the alanta health group has already rejected the claim that the standard corporate structure of medical care centers (MVZ) is not legally compliant. In fact, the combination of a manufacturing facility for oncological infusions, a pharmaceutical wholesaler, and an outpatient medical network has been a standard, established, and politically explicit care model for years. It is practiced in the same or similar ways by numerous players in the German healthcare system. The company's collaborations with registered doctors to promote healthcare research, which have been criticized by the public prosecutor's office, are also not illegal or unfair – this has been clarified and emphasized by various legal experts.

„All procedures and processes within our MVZ system comply with the applicable legal requirements. This has also been confirmed by comprehensive legal opinions from appointed legal experts. Our facilities are politically supported and ensure the highest level of care for around 100,000 cancer patients annually. In rural areas in particular, adequate oncological treatment close to home would often not be guaranteed without our locations. The freedom of the treating physicians to choose the appropriate therapy has been and continues to be fully preserved at all times – all medical decisions were and are exclusively their responsibility“, adds the alanta spokesperson.
